Presentation of the economic and tourist potential of Uzbekistan takes place in Hamburg

An economic forum was held in the German city of Hamburg by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Germany together with the State Committee for Tourism Development.

Partners from the German side were the Eastern Committee of the German Economy, the Chamber of Commerce and the mayor’s office of the city of Hamburg, as well as the Embassy of Tajikistan in Germany and the Honorary Consulate of Tajikistan in Hamburg.

The event was attended by representatives of business and financial circles of Germany who are interested in developing mutually beneficial cooperation with Uzbekistan, as well as specialized German media.

The forum discussed the prospects for the development of business cooperation between the business community and business entities of Germany and the countries of Central Asia, including Uzbekistan.

The reports of German companies operating in Uzbekistan were heard, in which attention was paid to the favorable conditions created in the republic for doing business and the advantages of establishing a bilateral business partnership.

In particular, the head of the German company Heinemann Medizintechnik GmbH, Frank Shpiller, shared his experience in developing business in Uzbekistan, and gave German companies useful advice on targeted investments in the economy of our republic.

Great interest among those present was caused by the presentation of the economic, investment and tourism potential of Uzbekistan. Its participants were informed about the current economic development of the country, the measures taken to modernize industrial enterprises, to further improve the business climate and priority areas of investment cooperation.

The audience of German entrepreneurs was also positively perceived information about the introduction from 15 January 2019 for German citizens visiting Uzbekistan for tourism, a visa-free regime for 30 days. It was stressed that the decision to abolish the visa regime is aimed at strengthening the cultural, scientific, educational exchange between the two countries, as well as improving the investment climate and increasing the tourist flow.

After the reports and presentations a podium discussion took place, during which various aspects of the Uzbek-German trade, economic and investment interaction were discussed.

In the framework of the stay in Hamburg of representatives of the Embassy of Uzbekistan of Germany and the State Committee for the Development of Tourism, a meeting was also held with compatriots who study and live in Hamburg. More than 50 people took part in it, including our compatriot 17-time World Champion in Lightweight WBO version Arthur Grigoryan.

The event allowed to conduct an open dialogue with our citizens about the prospects for the development of tourism in the republic. There was a lively exchange of views on the achievements of the domestic tourism industry, as well as the pending problems and shortcomings in the industry.

Our compatriots, stressing the usefulness of the meeting, in turn, expressed their readiness to actively support the efforts of the leadership and government of Uzbekistan to further increase the tourist attractiveness of our country in Germany.

On the same day, the Consular Section of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Berlin held a meeting with compatriots living in Hamburg. On all the given consular and legal issues, the participants received exhaustive answers.

The bright concert of the Uzbek musical group “Tasno” gave the evening an unforgettable atmosphere.

A group of art masters of Uzbekistan is making a tour of Germany these days with the support of the Ministry of Culture, State Tourism Committee and with the assistance of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Germany on the occasion of the spring holiday Navruz. Performances of the Uzbek musical ensemble were successfully held in Frankfurt, Berlin, Hamburg, Dresden and Munich. The goal of the program is the promotion and popularization of the musical and cultural heritage and the tourist product of Uzbekistan for Germany.

Some of the guests and our compatriots shared their impressions about the prospects for further development of the Uzbek-German multi-dimensional cooperation.
