Uzbekistan to host International Sericultural Commission’s Executive Committee meeting

On 5-6 April, Bukhara will host the meeting of the Executive Committee of the International Sericultural Commission with participation of representatives from 20 member countries of the organization.

The event provides for the participation of the Secretary General of the International Sericultural Commission Rajit Ranjan Okhandiar.

Within the framework of the event, it is planned to sign a Memorandum of Understanding between Uzbekipaksanoat Association and the Central Silk Board of the Ministry of Textiles of India.

The history of the International Sericultural Commission (ISC) dates back to June 1948. The International Sericultural Commission is an inter-governmental organization engaged in the development of sericulture and silk industry in the world, registered in the United Nations.

In September 2017, Uzbekistan became the twentieth member of this organization. The Instrument of Accession was officially signed by the leadership of Uzbekipaksanoat Association.
